'Parks and Recreation' renewed by NBC

The series, which stars Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman, among others, ended its fifth season May 2. The season finale drew a 1.5 rating/4 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic - up 15 percent from the previous week's episode, but down 12 percent from the previous season's finale. Offerman coyly broke news of the renewal on his Twitter account, writing Thursday, "Notes: - one does not 'whittle' a canoe. - one propels a Canoe with a paddle, not an oar. ...
