Showtime renews 'Nurse Jackie' for season 6

By Tim Kenneally LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - Showtime has given a sixth season to "Nurse Jackie," the network said Thursday. The new season will premiere next year. Season 5 of the series - which stars "The Sopranos" alum Edie Falco as flawed emergency-room nurse Jackie Peyton - is currently airing on Showtime, with the season finale airing June 16. Showtime Networks president of entertainment David Nevins praised showrunner Clyde Phillips -- who joined the series for its fifth season - while announcing the renewal. ...
