'Nightmare on Elm Street' writer Eric Heisserer in talks to pen Universal's 'Bird Box'

By Jeff Sneider LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - Universal Pictures is turning to Eric Heisserer, who penned the studio's remake of "The Thing," to write "Bird Box," an adaptation of Josh Malerman's manuscript that will be directed by Andy Muschietti ("Mama"), TheWrap has learned. Scott Stuber and Chris Morgan are producing with Barbara Muschietti, while Ryan Lewis will executive produce. Michael Clear, who serves as director of development at Stuber's Bluegrass Films banner, brought the project into the company and will oversee on its behalf. ...
