It is a cliche to call Superman and Batman the titans of the comic-book world. Some 70 years after their birth, there is no shortage of titans - we have titans galore. In fact, our cup runneth over with titans of every stripe. They are however the originals, which is in itself an accolade. In a universe saturated with super powers - from stretching to magnetic mastery, these mark-one marvels have straightforward abilities. Batman is tough, Superman can fly, we all get it.
