'The Wolverine,' Hugh Jackman's sixth appearance as the invulnerable anti-hero in the Marvel mutant series from 20th Century Fox, is in cinemas now. Largely a standalone feature, it makes little reference to the existing 'X-Men' movies, and looks unlikely to have much resonance in those that follow (mid-credits bonus scene notwithstanding). It boasts some harsh scenes of violence, and deals with mature themes.
