False alarm - remake director and writer still attached to 'Evil Dead' sequel

False alarm - remake director and writer still attached to 'Evil Dead' sequel It seems there was no truth whatsoever to yesterday's reports that the writer/director team behind this year's 'Evil Dead' had dropped out of the planned sequel to the horror remake. Uruguayan director Fede Alvarez told his followers on Twitter "Don't believe everything you read online," before clarifying the matter to Bloody Disgusting: "Stuff got lost in translation… Rodo (Sayagues) meant we're not actually making 'Evil Dead 2′ right now because the priority is Sam's 'Army of Darkness 2.' But the plan of making a sequel to our 'Evil Dead' is very much alive." Ah yes - on top of everything else, it turns out the source of the 'revelation' that Fede Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues had quit the sequel was not an interview at Gorosito.tv with Alvarez, as we reported, but an interview with Sayagues.
