As preparations continue for the forthcoming filming of the second 'Avatar' movie, it has been revealed that James Cameron is involved in a side project that may resurrect rumours about 'Avatar 2' which first surfaced a month ago. Numerous media reported at the time that Cameron was looking to get arguably the most memorable action movie star of all-time, Arnold Schwarzenegger, involved with the 'Avatar' series. This would make sense in many ways, not merely due to the fact that Schwarzenegger could be a bankable influence on the 'Avatar' series, whether he took up a positive or negative character trait, but also because Cameron and the Austrian-born actor have worked together before very successfully in both the original 'Terminator' movie and 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day'. Spokesmen for the second 'Avatar' movie quickly moved to deny the rumours, but this wouldn't be the first time that a studio had handwaved a press report, before it later turned out to be true.
