Batman vs. Superman: James Purefoy turned down Lex Luthor?

Batman vs. Superman: James Purefoy turned down Lex Luthor? The British actor, currently starring in TV's 'The Following,' is reported to have rejected the central villain role in DC's upcoming 'Batman vs. Superman.' Director Zach Snyder recently hinted that the iconic bad guy, the traditional arch-nemesis of Superman, will indeed do battle with Henry Cavill's Man of Steel and Ben Affleck's Dark Knight in 2015's blockbuster-in-waiting - and rumour has it he may not be the only other notable DC character to pop up. However, as the production gets underway the presence of Luthor has still yet to be 100% confirmed - and, as such, casting has obviously not yet been announced. However, Comic Book Movie claim that the character is indeed in 'Batman vs. Superman,' and that James Purefoy was among the first actors approached for the role - but the actor "wanted absolutely nothing to do with it."
