MGM gain full rights to Thunderball - could Blofeld return to Bond?

MGM gain full rights to Thunderball - could Blofeld return to Bond? Longstanding rights issues surrounding the James Bond movie 'Thunderball' have finally been settled, potentially opening the door for a return of 007's arch nemesis Blofeld. According to the Hollywood Reporter, "Danjaq, LLC, the producer of James Bond films, and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, the longtime distributor of the Bond films, announced they had reached a settlement with the estate of Kevin McClory." McClory's family has reportedly sold all rights back to MGM. For learned Bond fans, the late Kevin McClory will need little introduction. He was the independent film producer who, due to a legal battle over Ian Fleming's novel 'Thunderball,' owned a portion of the movie rights to the Bond characters.
