It has also been revealed that the 'Monsters, Inc.' sequel has been submitted and accepted into Oscar-contention alongside Disney's 'Frozen' and DisneyToons' 'Planes'. While there's no chance in hell of the latter getting anywhere, the general positivity for 'Monsters University' and the pre-release buzz for 'Frozen' could see both Disney and Pixar battling it out for the prestigious award of Best Animation. While this trio of Disney and Pixar movies have, so far, made the preliminary cut, the short film that accompanied 'Monsters University' has unfortunately not. Granted, it's not one of Pixar's best shorts, but it is still worthy, in my eyes at least, of a slot in one of the competing places.
