Pixar walk away with a handful of Annies

Pixar walk away with a handful of Annies COMMENT | It may not have been the greatest of years for Pixar in terms of Oscar snubs for its feature, 'Monsters University', and 'The Blue Umbrella' short film, but it's certainly not all bad news for the animation giants. While the Oscars committee saw fit to exclude the 2013 sequel from the Best Animation category -- making way for Disney's mega hit 'Frozen' -- it has done significantly well elsewhere. But it's back to the Annies, an animation-centric awards ceremony that took place on Saturday February 1st, that Pixar should currently be proud of. With sequel 'Monsters University' and TV special 'Toy Story of Terror', the pair entered the event with a massive 17 nominations from a possible 30 categories.
