The announcement that Bob Hoskins no longer graces the world with his presence is a sad day for both British and world cinema. OK, maybe 'Super Mario Bros.' and 'Spiceworld' were a misstep but everyone's allowed to make a few mistakes! Still, the news of his passing also brings to light the fact that Hoskins was almost the first ever actor to play Wolverine on the big screen, and if one of 'X-Men's' most famous ever writers had got his way he would have been. Chris Claremont, who scribed some of 'X-Men's' most famous comic storylines including 'Days Of Future Past' and 'The Dark Phoenix Saga' and was also integral in Wolverine's development, originally believed that Hoskins would make the perfect Logan.
