Former Timelord Matt Smith has signed up to star alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in the latest Terminator film. The 31-year-old actor, who ended his time as Dr Who in the BBC1 science fiction show last year, will also appear alongside Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke. He will play "a new character with a strong connection to John Connor" in the new film titled Terminator: Genesis, Paramount Pictures said. Smith took over the role of Dr Who from David Tennant in 2010 and appeared in his final episode on Christmas Day as millions of viewers watched him hand over the role to Peter Capaldi.
