Hugh Jackman has revealed that 20th Century Fox were open to the idea of an R-rated Wolverine spin-off movie, but that he was the one who shot it down. Wolverine's violent nature and tendency to go on wild killing frenzies when provoked makes an R-rating somewhat natural, and it's certainly something fans of the character have wanted to see for some time. Jackman, who returns to play Wolverine for the seventh time in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' revealed the R-rating proposal in an interview with MovieFone . The career-spanning interview turned to Jackman's work with director Darren Aronofsky and their desire to work again on second Wolverine spin-off 'The Wolverine', which was eventually directed by James Mangold.
