Roberto Orci Frontrunner To Direct Star Trek 3?

Roberto Orci Frontrunner To Direct Star Trek 3? After J.J. Abrams left to direct 'Star Wars VII', it looks as though 'Star Trek' writer Roberto Orci could take his place for 'Star Trek 3'. According to Deadline Hollywood, the 'Star Trek Into Darkness' scribe is currently being eyed to direct the upcoming 'Star Trek 3'… and while recent reports saw him campaigning for the role, it looks as though executives at paramount may just have heard his plea. \"After an aggressive lobbying campaign, Roberto Orci has emerged as the clear frontrunner to replace JJ Abrams and direct Paramount's third instalment of the 'Star Trek' series,\" they reveal. Of course, Orci is no stranger to the 'Star Trek' franchise, having penned Abrams' 'Star Trek' reboot back in 2009 as well as the recent 'Star Trek Into Darkness'.
