In the wake of the internet exploding following yesterday's reveal of Ben Affleck as Batman, many fans have noted the similarities between this new-look Batsuit and that of 'The Dark Knight Returns,' Frank Miller's iconic 1986 graphic novel. By movie standards, this Batman sports unusually short ears (almost Adam West-like!) and a far broader, heavier build than ever seen before; All these directly echo Frank Miller's design of the character in his dystopian take on the Caped Crusader, in which an ageing Bruce Wayne takes to the streets of a future Gotham City that's even more crime-ridden than before. If this new Batman is drawing directly from this Frank Miller model, how does this bode for the movie ahead?
