How Pixar Named Their Iconic Characters Former Pixar employee Craig Good has revealed some of the methods and processes of how the team came up with many of their iconic character names for films such as 'Toy Story' and 'Monsters, Inc.'. Good worked at Pixar for over three decades, joining when the company formed, having been part of the Lucasfilm team since 1982. He was involved in the production of four Pixar titles: 'Toy Story', 'Monsters, Inc.', 'Finding Nemo' and 'Brave'. "Some names come easily, such as Woody Pride," he says about perhaps the most iconic character in their filmography, even though the surname was dropped.
