"Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke tapped for "The Age of Miracles"

The film, an adaptation of Karen Thompson Walker's bestselling debut novel, centers on an 11-year-old girl growing up in California who finds, along with the rest of the world, that the rotation of the earth has suddenly begun to slow, potentially spelling doom for the planet.
