An online petition is circulating protesting against the casting of Rooney Mara, a white actress, in the role of Tiger Lily, a Native American character, in Warner Brother's 'Pan' film. This race row is now dragging up past Hollywood misdemeanours, such as Peter Jackson's Hobbit franchise. The petition has now received over 5,000 signatures opposing the casting of Mara with many labelling Warner Brother's decision to cast a white actress in a Native American role as irresponsible. The Twitter handle #NotYourTigerLily has gained significant traction on Twitter as the campaign to get big Hollywood film studios to 'stop casting white actors as people of colour'.
