Animation To Soon Be Inundated With Female Directors Jennifer Lee has had a pretty successful 12 months. The film that she co-directed and wrote, 'Frozen', is now the most successful animated movie of all time, she's the first woman director to ever pass $1billion at the box-office, Disney's first female director in animation and she has also recieved award after award after award. It's now been announced that Lee will receive yet another accolade, the Dorothy Arzner Directors Award, at the Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards later this month, and she believes that the animation genre will soon be inundated with a hoard of female filmmakers as it is "ahead of the curve." Speaking to Variety, Lee, who will collect the gong from Kristen Bell, the voice of Anna in 'Frozen', made the prediction as she's seen the "up-and-coming talent" at Disney first-hand.
