After landing the role of Jim Gordon in TV's 'Gotham', Ben McKenzie opens up about the young detective… and assures us that he won't be an anti-hero. It's a sign of our times - comic book heroes becoming darker, grittier and more realistic. But while TV's 'Gotham' certainly borrows from the grittier aesthetic of modern superhero movies, it looks as though DC's Jim Gordon is still a good guy at heart. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, McKenzie explained that he's enjoying himself as the young Commissioner Gordon… and loves that he's a truly good person - unlike darker comic books heroes which are currently proving popular.
