Shaliene Woodley is arguably the most coveted actress in Hollywood at the moment. Star turns in 'The Descendants', 'Divergent', 'The Fault In Our Stars' and 'The Spectacular Now' have seen her usurp Jennifer Lawrence as American cinema's "It Girl," but her stock could have been even higher had she appeared as Mary Jane Watson in 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2.' Unfortunately director Marc Webb decided that there wasn't enough room for her character, and instead decided to spend more time focusing on Peter Parkers' relationship with Emma Stone's Gwen Stacey. Of course, this was understandable, but you couldn't help but feel sorry for Woodley, and despite her burgeoning stature she has now admitted that even she was a tad shocked by her surprising omission.
