As some of you may be aware, not too long ago AnimEigo planned to set up a Kickstarter in order to fund the release of the classic anime TV series 'Bubblegum Crisis' on Blu-ray. Even though the original series from 1987 has been available on DVD, the passionate team behind a $75,000 target decided that the show -- consisting of 8 episodes -- needed to be seen in glorious HD and is also a way to give fans the mountains of extras that would struggle to fit on DVD. The Kickstarter began on Friday 25th October, and took a mere 4 days to reach its target. Set in Neo Tokyo, 'Bubblegum Crisis' is about a female mercenary team that, with the aid of their power armour suits, fight a corrupt corporation called Genom.
