Hollywood legend Steven Spielberg has been signed up to direct the film version of Roald Dahl's much-loved book The BFG. The Oscar-winning director is officially committed to make the silver-screen adaptation of the children's book for DreamWorks, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Melissa Mathison, who wrote the script for ET, is writing the screenplay. Other directors, including Chris Columbus and John Madden, had been linked with making The BFG over recent years.
