It's just under two months until Disney unleash their next feature film upon the world in the shape of 'Maleficent', yet some have already resigned the film to failure, according to a Wall Street analyst, anyway. Marci Ryvicker believes that the $130 million budgeted film will force Disney into a write-down -- a process whereby a company overvalues an asset, in this case a movie, and are forced to re-evaluate and reduce its value. In her article she says, "Expectations for a 'Maleficent' write-off seem relatively widespread", which is a bold stance to take before the film has even had any press screenings. Based around the classic story of 'Sleeping Beauty' -- a popular film also by Disney released in 1959 -- there are some who believe the prequel is too frightening for its intended audience.
