'Toy Story's' Woody was almost the film's villain, according to Pixar president Ed Catmull. Catmull is still busy promoting his new book, "Creativity Inc.," and during an interview with ABC he confirmed that Pixar's first film went through some dramatic changes before it finally made it to the big screen. 'Toy Story' was originally inspired by the 1988's 'Tin Toy,' which won that year's Academy Award for animated short film, and before Buzz or Woody were even conceived director John Lasseter planned to simply make that film's character, Tinny, the movie's lead.
