Joe Carnahan's Scrapped Daredevil Plans

Joe Carnahan's Scrapped Daredevil Plans Director Joe Carnahan has discussed his vision for a trilogy of 'Daredevil' films, which he had hoped to make for 20th Century Fox before the rights to the character reverted to Marvel last year. As most fans will now be aware, Marvel Studios have big plans for Daredevil on the small screen, with a Netflix series lined up which will launch a string of shows starring some of the comic label's grittier, 'street level' characters - Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage - who will then team up Avengers-style in mini-series 'The Defenders.' It was literally days before Fox's option on Daredevil expired when Carnahan's 'sizzle reel' - i.e. Alas, it was not to be, and just as Carnahan's 'Daredevil' died, so did Fox's chance to make amends for the deeply flawed 2003 Mark Steven Johnson film which starred Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, Colin Farrell, Jon Favreau and the late Michael Clarke Duncan.
